March 2018
In Spain, their “spring break” is actually for holy week, the week leading up to Easter Sunday. Hailey and I decided to go to southern France for our week off. We did a Saturday to Saturday and we were still able to catch some Semana Santa processions on Easter Sunday in Córdoba; make sure to check out my epic photoblog of the celebration.
We had a really relaxing week, eating crepes and drinking coffee by the pier and watching movies at night. We rented a car for two days to drive around some of the smaller towns in the Provence region of France including stops in Aix-en-Provence, Arles, Gordes, and Avignon. March was a nice time of year to go because there were no crowds but it wasn’t the prettiest time to go either. No flowers or gardens were in bloom since the dregs of winter were just beginning to fade. I’d love to return to this region in July when all the lavender fields are in bloom!

What do you think? Have I inspired you to visit southern France? I know I want to go back! If only for the crepes.
