I know it’s August now, but I wanted to share with you my bullet journal set-up for July with my new theme. You might have seen my last bullet journal post where I began a new bullet journal for the second half of 2019. I have a very minimalist and floral theme going on for this journal. And it’s just so calming and simple!
Cover Page
This post is going to be a lot of firsts for me on my bullet journaling journey. The past couple of months have given me time to experiment and explore and this is no different. I made a cover page for July with a pertinent quote, calendar, and the main theme for the month. All the doodles and artwork for this month are branches with berries.
I created my first dutch door for my bullet journal! And I think it’s such a cool element to add to a cover page. It’s not super practical but it does have a good use. Using it as a design feature on my July cover page means that I can easily turn to it. It acts as a sort of bookmark, much like dog-earing a page in a book.
Underneath the dutch door, I’m using this section to track write my goals and then create tasks so I can achieve or get closer to achieving each goal.
Monthly Calendar
In some of my old calendar spreads, I used the extra space on the side to track my monthly tasks. Honestly, it looked too messy for my taste and if you saw my new set up, I created a monthly tasks grid where I can check off items for each month. Because my monthly tasks always do stay the same. (Paying off bills, new contact lenses, etc.)
It’s really just a basic calendar and I keep track of my schedule on my calendar. Then my weekly spread is for do-list and daily tasks. So all my events and my work schedule go on this page:
Gratitude Journal and Monthly Review
Being intentional every day and reflecting on one thing that you are grateful for, is a great way to put life in perspective. It helps calm the noise of stress and worries by focusing on the positive stuff in your life. I would recommend the practice to anyone.
My month in review page has a similar purpose. At the end of the month, it’s a great way to sit down and reflect on just how much you did and what you liked during the month. There is also a space for a little personal growth by writing down some ideas for improvement.
Weekly Spread
My weekly spreads are about to get a lot more boring from now on because I have found the spread I will use over and over again. It takes almost no time at all the outline the spaces so I can keep track of my daily to-do lists, my habits, and my meals. There’s even a spot in the bottom right-hand corner to list items for the following week.
Here’s a closer look at my page where I have a habit tracker at the bottom. It’s convenient to just put a check-mark on the tracker each day and see my progress.
I hope you enjoyed seeing my July bullet journal spreads. I just love being able to keep track of everything in such a unique and personal way. Which spread is your favorite?
Happy Day-

Thanks! It’s very lovely. I love floral designs for my own and I’ve been finding the less I do, the better it looks. I used to overdo it a lot and realized it was just too busy for my tastes.

It’s SO TRUE. The less I do the better it looks is just spot on. Doing a lot of designs always takes a while too which I’m trying to steer away from. Thanks again Jenna for reading my blog 🙂
