February is slow and cold but it’s also the time for lovers (Valentine’s Day) and coziness. I tried to capture the essence of the month in my theme for this month. Roses are relatively easy to draw and my brush pens make coloring the pages a breeze!
Cover Page
My colors for the month are not traditionally Valentine’s Day type color but more of a winter palette: sage green, lavender, and light gray. I think it makes it feel especially cozy and while the large roses and leaves make it whimsical.
Like last month, I also have one thing I’m ‘leaving behind’ in 2020 and one thing I’m ‘bringing into 2020.’ These are not really resolutions but a focus. This month the intentions go hand in hand: shopping. I want to curb my impulse buying and when I have to buy new clothes, purchase only ethical fashion.
Here’s a closer look at the bottom corner of my cover page. Having a box around the page really helps frame it while the gray color keeps it subtle and neutral.
Monthly Calendar
The calendar page is where I keep track of my schedule. It’s easy to glance at this page and see the events or appointments I have that day. The big spacing means I can list multiple items.
Weekly Layout
I love how different this layout is from my usual weekly layout style. I’ve made it a point to have a different weekly layout style every month. And I think this works really well with my theme! I like that I had some room at the top for “notes” so I could journal some thoughts from the week. I always use the notes section as a reflective space.
Each page turns out unique and my roses were different every time.
I didn’t find this layout as streamlined as others but it just looks so pretty!
These pages may seem daunting to recreate but they really weren’t. The use of brush pens made it quick and I free-handed the roses after the first couple. I’m really happy with the way these turned out and I’m glad I pushed myself to create something a little more whimsical than I’m used to 😉 But don’t worry, minimalist March is next, so look for next’s month simplistic theme.

I always love your bullet journal designs. They are soo pretty. I tried bullet journaling, but I never seem to stick to it. How do you make it work?

Thank you so much! Journaling can really be hard to get into. What works for me is scheduling my time to journal. I usually take some time while eating breakfast to write things down and at night before bed to reflect on the day. In terms of spreads, sometimes I’ll just block out in pencil and continue to use the journal then fill in the fancy stuff later. I always need an hour or two to draw the whole month up so I plan to do that on a day I’m off work. Hope that helps 🙂

You are so organised! Yes, I think making time is the clue here.
