I have joined these affiliate programs with the hope of recouping some of the costs of blogging. Blogging is not free when you host your own website (which I do with Bluehost and WordPress.org). Hosting in this way means I can own and control everything on my blog. Blogging also takes time and it would be nice to get a small commission for all the content I create.
