Welcome friends,
I’m Hayley, sharing my stories on a footpath to a conscious and creative life. This blog is a cozy place for others seeking refuge from the rush where we can rest and reconnect as we follow our creative dreams.
Author
I write historical fantasy featuring determined women, plenty of romance, and a dash of magic. My stories always feature the working class and have themes of worth, belonging, and love—in all its forms.
Blogger
This blog has been a way to share my creative whims and my journey of slow, sustainable living.
I recently launched a Substack called Hayley’s Notions. It’s a series of letters and essays about growing as a writer and letting creativity bloom.
My Story
I grew up in a log cabin nestled in the woods outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where my mother instilled in me a deep-rooted love of flowers and photography.
I hold degrees in English and education and, following graduation, taught in southern Spain for a year, which I documented on this blog. Living out of two suitcases taught me to live simply while the Spanish taught me to live slowly.
While I love to travel, I’m also content to stay at home with my sewing machine, tea kettle, and garden. Three of my short stories have been published in anthologies by Dandelion Revolution Press.
I currently live in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania with an enormous stack of journals and an even greater stack of books. I hope you stay and rest awhile, and join me for all of my conscious and creative notions.
On a normal day you can find me…
- Drinking black tea with a splash of milk
- Writing my new adult fantasy novel
- Making lists in my journal
- Creating art with chalk pastels
- Hiking with my partner
- Enjoying a margarita with friends
